UPCOMING TECHNOLOGIES IN SMARTPHONES
As we are approaching towards 2016, I am damn excited to know more about flagship devices of 2016 and the technologies featured by them. Right now there are tons of rumors spreading out on the web about the flagship devices of 2016, so I am back with the list of upcoming technologies that may feature by upcoming flagship devices.
1. Fingerprint Recognition from Main Display
Fingerprint Recognition is a technique where fingerprint is used to identify and verify individuals.
Most of the flagship high-end devices like Nexus 5X, 6P, Galaxy Note 5, S6 Edge Plus, HTC One M9+ etc. are out with Fingerprint Scanner. But that scanner took space to place in home button or in back panel. Instead of wasting such space as scanner or touch-based fingerprint, now it is expected that upcoming phones will out featuring finger print scanning from Main Display.
The post made by PhoneArena tells more about the patents of this technology, that they have mention the CrucialTek got patent approval of its embedded fingerprint sensing technology which can be install in display and they have also mention that Apple patented similar tech. So geeks are expecting this technology in Apple’s iPhone 7.
2. Corning Gorilla Glass 5
Gorilla Glass is a brand developed by Corning which is manufacturer of glass, ceramics and related materials.
Right now fourth generation of Gorilla Glass is in market which has been improved damage resistance than previous versions and some smartphone making company’s like SAMSUNG and ASUS offers this fourth generation Gorilla Glass in there devices.
Now rumors are spreading that upcoming flagship devices Samsung Galaxy S7 and Sony Xperia Z6 will be out with Corning Gorilla Glass 5.
3. Eye Scanner
In 2013 Apple came with fingerprint scanning featured implemented in iPhone 5S, then other smartphone making companies understood the importance of it and started implementing same in there devices. But Fujitsu is the first one who debuts in iris recognition sensor technology, launching Eye scanner smartphone.
Recently launched Microsoft Lumia 950 XL comes with an iris scanner, also there are some other smartphones already launched with Iris recognition technology. And as per rumours Galaxy S7 and LG G5 will be out in 2016 with Eye Scanner technology.
As per experts Iris Scanning is more secure than fingerprint scanning technique.
4. USB Type-C
USB Type-C is a new USB standard of USB connector, which is a tiny physical connector and it can support new USB standard like USB 3.1 and USB PD.
If all devices adapt USB Type-C (as it can fit on any device) will no more need to mess with different cables with different connector.
Recently Apple’s New MacBook and Google’s Chromebook Pixel launched with USB Type-C port where both uses it as charging port, and therefore geeks are expecting that upcoming iPhone 7 will be out with an USB Type-C connector.
These four technologies will be mainly featured in flagship devices of 2016, and I will like to have all these 4 in mine smartphone, would you?
